Chris Lee That was terrific, but start to finish, isn't that just a 0.5K flight? wink emoticon Were you guys hitting specific turnpoints? 1/28, 6:18am Lindsay Matush Haha. Oh lee- you always see right through me! Yes it was the worlds slowest .5 k flight. Gotta set a record somehow!!! Not specific turn points just making decisions as we went. It was actually setting up to be a pretty poor day with lots of high clouds and haze- whole first leg was battling headwind and kept getting low. It's a classic flight to cross the valley toward obando. A lot of people land there or push up toward cartago. We got lucky and we're still high and Dave was like "hey! Let's do a box!" That is, after i grovelled up from super low while he was at cloud base saying "1000 fpm up! Get up here girl!" 1/29, 5:01pm Lindsay MatushHere is a doarama from yesterday's flight - 3k shy of 100k. and yes, I dirted Cuervo smile emoticon. Pay attention to the climb rates and to what we fly through. I'm learning a lot about not stopping in weak lift, but getting a gauge for wahtever the day is going to give you and not stopping until you hit good lift. Then leaving lift as soon as it gets weak. Iv'e gotten better at it every day - it's so hard to leave lift when it's still there, but if it goes from 500fpm to 400 fpm to 200 fpm, at some point, the thermal washes out an the guy who left as soon as it dropped is now a thermal ahead getting 500 fpm up while you're hanging out in weak stuff. Cuervo learnings.... Enjoy!
